ALCESTER, UK – For the first time ever, on Wednesday, 7th October and Thursday, 8th October, Seco Tools’ annual Inspiration through Innovation event will be hosted entirely online, making it accessible to attendees from all over the world.
Michael Fleming, Marketing Manager, Global Sales for Seco Tools says: “By going virtual, we’re proud to show that Seco continues to innovate – not just our engineering solutions – but also the way we do business.” Inspiration through Innovation has shifted its approach to alleviate safety and travel concerns facing customers. “The added benefit of a virtual event is that we can welcome people who may not have been able to attend in the past,” adds Fleming.
Like last year, the event programme is focused exclusively on the aerospace segment, and true to the event’s seven-year history, it continues to highlight and demonstrate the power of partnership and the benefits available to component manufacturers of adopting collaborative approaches to problem solving.
David Magnall, Innovation Partnership Manager at Seco Tools UK says: “It’s been incredible to see the continued dedication and commitment to Inspiration through Innovation this year from our technical partners. The thing that makes ITI different is that, year after year, we continue to demonstrate the success that can be achieved when we bring our expertise together to find solutions to our customers’ manufacturing challenges.”
Inspiration through Innovation 2020 has an inspiring and practical, customer-focused event programme, featuring best-in-class aerospace-related machining demonstrations of structural and aero engine parts and features, industry-leading seminars, and networking and business-to-business opportunities.
Machining demonstration sessions will showcase production of real aerospace components in various materials, such as Inconel, aluminium and titanium. Components being machined include: two blisks (different strategies and materials), an engine casing, a wing pylon, a rib, and a skin plate.
Seminar speakers from Rolls-Royce, the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Siemens Digital Industries Software Ltd, Seco Tools and others will discuss the big issues facing the aerospace industry, including aero engine trends, machine data capture, automation, remote solutions, and overcoming disruptions in manufacturing.
Formal networking sessions will welcome attendees to discuss various topics including sustainability in manufacturing, innovations in metrology, and solutions for transforming manufacturing processes.
Registration is now open. Inspiration through Innovation can be found at https://events.bizzabo.com/Seco-AeroITI2020
